The Association of Light Touch Therapists

The Association

The Association of Light Touch Therapists (ALTT) was formed in 1988 to promote therapies which are “light touch” in that while they involve physical contact between the client and the therapist – thus providing touch – contact is no heavier than one would use to rub an eyeball, justifying the term light. Using light touch techniques to work with the subtle energy fields of the body, the therapies are non-invasive, drug-free and involve little or no manipulation.

The ultimate aim of ALTT is to assist in the establishment of light touch therapies within the normal health-care provision of the nation and to protect members in the lawful exercise of their profession. To do this, ALTT will help members within specific therapy groups to work towards written standards and will promote those standards amongst members and the public.

The ALTT is a member organisation of the British Complementary Medicine Association (BCMA)
